Hunter always loved movement - whether it was running, dancing, or playing volleyball - it just felt right to celebrate the body in motion. Forever searching for that next great workout, Hunter walked into her very first yoga class, and fell in love…
Yoga was so much more than just physical exercise. She found it to be an amazing ancient art and science that helped to create balance and unity within body, mind, and heart.
Completely mesmerized by the beauty and calm nature of yoga, Hunter enrolled in teacher training at Cityoga School of Yoga and Health in Indianapolis. She studied with Nikki Myers and Marsha Pappas, and attained her 200 hour certification in 2004. Ten years later, she expanded her training when the opportunity arose to study with Rolf Gates. Hunter has been teaching since 2004, and is E-RYT 500 certified.
Hunter’s classes have been described as uplifting, introspective, powerful, fun, and spiritual. She teaches in the vinyasa style of yoga as it is so open to creative sequencing and joyful movement. Restorative, gentle meditative, and hot yoga are also classes that Hunter enjoys instructing.
One of Hunter’s favorite aspects of yoga is that it meets you right where you are: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. This happens every single time that you step on to the mat. It is a deep and transformative practice that works. Hunter feels that it has been a huge honor to pass on this gift of yoga as it is a profound reminder that grace is pouring down upon us daily.
Erica began her yoga journey in 2010. Despite years building strength through running and cycling, she was humbled by her inability to hold yoga postures on the mat. Hooked on yoga, she completed her 200-hour teacher training at Holy Cow with Trace Sahaja Bonner in Charleston, SC. Her evolving practice became a source of not only physical strength, but also mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. She continued to study Vinyasa Flow and completed her 500 hours with Rolf Gates in 2015. Erica’s curiosity to practice and learn more has led her to hundreds of hours of extended learning through workshops and self-study. Erica is currently studying AcuYin with Jo Phee, creator of Yinspirations; a hybrid Yin class combining Yin and acupressure points.
Erica teaches a variety of classes including Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Vinyasa Flow and Beginner Yoga at her local studio, Namaste and the YMCA’s in Irmo, SC. While she first practiced yoga to gain strength and preserve the soles of her feet (the toll running had taken), she now practices and teaches to nourish her soul. She loves to share her passion for yoga in providing safe and accessible yoga for all. Erica embraces years of learning and teaching to inspire her students to practice and live their yoga on and off the mat. In turn, living their best life and enhancing the lives of those they touch.
