Nora completed her 200 hour Teacher Training with Alan Lowenchaus (Allowah). She is a 200- hour RYT with numerous additional hours of teaching and training. She is a member of Yoga Alliance. In addition to her initial yoga training, she is certified in Yin Yoga, the art of Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Seane Corn, and Fluid Power Training with Shiva Rea.
Nora has studied extensively with Yogi Amrit Desai, Tias Little and Eleana Bower. Upon graduation Nora volunteered yoga teaching at the Hindu Temple of Ft. Myers. This was where she found her way to Pelican Landing where she has been the yoga instructor for 12 years. This will mark Nora’s 13 th season with the Pelican Landing Community Center. In addition, she has been the instructor at Corkscrew Shores for 2 years. During this time, Nora has organized and been the lead teacher on 3 yoga retreats to Costa Rica. The retreats include journalling, meditation, yoga in various styles, excursions and spa amenities. Nora is forever a student of yoga. She has studied with numerous teachers and taken continuing education workshops on yoga anatomy, business of yoga and the history of yoga to name a few. All of these experiences continue to influence the style of yoga she teaches and happily shares with all who come in contact with her.
In addition to teaching yoga, Nora is a recently retired full-time high school Algebra 2 teacher. She will tell you, “Yoga has been a saving grace. It calms my mind, aligns my body, balances my energy and leaves me feeling more open and available to those around me. I try to bring these qualities to my teaching in a joyful, fun hatha style class. The classes are unfixed, intuitive, determined by the class that day, and the energy of the room.”
