Hunter always loved movement - whether it was running, dancing, or playing volleyball - it just felt right to celebrate the body in motion. Forever searching for that next great workout, Hunter walked into her very first yoga class, and fell in love…
Yoga was so much more than just physical exercise. She found it to be an amazing ancient art and science that helped to create balance and unity within body, mind, and heart.
Completely mesmerized by the beauty and calm nature of yoga, Hunter enrolled in teacher training at Cityoga School of Yoga and Health in Indianapolis. She studied with Nikki Myers and Marsha Pappas, and attained her 200 hour certification in 2004. Ten years later, she expanded her training when the opportunity arose to study with Rolf Gates. Hunter has been teaching for over 15 years, and is E-RYT 500 certified.
Hunter’s classes have been described as uplifting, introspective, powerful, fun, and spiritual. She teaches in the vinyasa style of yoga as it is so open to creative sequencing and joyful movement. Restorative, gentle meditative, and hot yoga are also classes that Hunter enjoys instructing.
One of Hunter’s favorite aspects of yoga is that it meets you right where you are: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. This happens every single time that you step on to the mat. It is a deep and transformative practice that works. Hunter feels that it has been a huge honor to pass on this gift of yoga as it is a profound reminder that grace is pouring down upon us daily.
Hunter is deeply grateful to all the teachers that have inspired her with their wisdom, humility, and humor. Thank you Nikki Myers, Marsha Pappas, Nancy Schalk, Seane Corn and Rolf Gates.
