Born and raised in the Midwest, I am a lover of coffee, bad puns, 90’s hip-hop, and the incredible potential that lies in yoga.
It was during my first yoga class, one that I had been reluctantly dragged to, that I felt like I had come home. I found a practice that could make me feel strong and vulnerable all at the same time. I quickly recognized that the practice of yoga is much like the journey of life; its full of ups, downs, twists, and turns. Over the years, my yoga mat has become a sacred piece of real estate. Whether it is a day of flying or falling, my yoga practice has the potential to both break me open and put me back together. It is that combination that keeps me in my practice and that I strive to share as a teacher.
As a teacher, my sincerest hope is that students feel comfortable and supported to show up exactly as they are. To me, the power of yoga lies in its accessibility. My aim is to hold space for practitioners to uncover what they need, be it strength, patience, or compassion. On the mat, I want students to tap into their amazing potential, pushing past their perceived limitations and rising further than they previously thought possible. It’s most important to me that as I teach and connect with students that they feel seen, that I understand where they are, and meet them there.
