Guideline itinerary. Schedule may vary based on instructor and size of group.
Begin with four nights in the Mountain Pine Ridge…a pine forest in the middle of the jungle
The first four nights you will stay at ultra-secluded Hidden Valley Inn. The cottages are spacious and pleasant, with high pitched ceilings, stocked fireplace, sitting area, private bath and Belizean hardwood detailing. Cottages are single, double or triple occupancy, with either a double bed or twins.
In addition to the inn’s pool and hot tub, there are 100+ miles of hiking and mountain biking trails that lead to eight large waterfalls. Yoga is practiced in three specially-built locations throughout the reserve, including one yoga platform overlooking Tiger Creek waterfall.
…then spend three nights on the Caribbean Sea.
The last three nights of the retreat are spent at Naia, a beachfront spa resort on the lovely Placencia peninsula. Each guestroom is just steps from the sea.
Naia Resort and Spa was listed as “One of the 52 places to go in 2017” by the New York Times. The luxurious (yet barefoot casual) resort is tucked away on a 200-acre private reserve, stretching from the turquoise Caribbean sea to the the Placencia lagoon, with views of the Maya Mountains beyond.
All meals are included, beginning with dinner on arrival day. You will feast on amazing food with excellent service while on our Caribbean Hideaways retreat. At both resorts, you will enjoy delicious homemade gourmet meals. Vegetarian, vegan and allergies can be easily accommodated.
Typical dinner menu at Hidden Valley Inn might include a first course choice of bruchetta with olive tapanade, lobster stew or walnut and blue cheese salad, main course choices of pecan-crusted snapper, curried chickpeas and spinach or filet mignon with mushrooms and red wine sauce. Their exquisite, daily-made desserts range from decadent chocolate eclairs to the more pious pear granita.
Meals at Naia are casual gourmet. Breakfast might be fresh tropical fruits, followed by homemade pastries, yogurt and eggs. Lunch options could be catch of the day served with rice and avocado salad. Dinner might be chaya soup, habanero chicken skewers, and homemade molton lava cake.

Complementary free-time activities:
Caracol Mayan Ruins–Caracol is Belize’s most magnificent Mayan ruin (and one of the largest in the Maya world). In its prime it covered over 65 square miles and was inhabited by over 120,000 people. Lost to the rainforest for over 1,000 years, Caracol was rediscovered in 1937. Its largest temple, Caana, is over 140 feet tall, and remains the tallest man-made structure in Belize to this day.
Guided waterfall hike–Guided hike to enjoy the flora and fauna that Belize has in abundance–including many native birds not found elsewhere in North America. Hike along the Cascade Trail, traversing handbuilt bridges, and arriving at the magical and photo-perfect Butterfly Falls.
Snorkeling the second-largest Barrier Reef in the world–Belize’s reef is like a living art gallery. Living among the many beautiful corals are a myriad of tropical fish–Blue Tang, Angelfish, Butterfly Fish, Parrot Fish…there are simply too many to name. Snorkelers often see elusive beauties such as spotted eagle rays, sea turtles and the magnificent Queen Triggerfish.
Morning and evening outdoor yoga classes with gorgeous views. The locations we have selected for our Caribbean Hideaways retreat perfectly immerse you in the beauty of Belize.
While at Hidden Valley Inn, you will enjoy three different yoga palapas–each designed to provide you with a unique jungle sensory experience. At Naia, their lovely yoga studio is an indoor/outdoor space with an entire wall of glass doors opening onto a lovely garden.
